Profile Description
Dr. Lakhan Roop is a highly experienced and qualified Consultant Pediatric Surgeon with extensive training and expertise in pediatric surgical care. He holds an MBBS and a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery (FRCS, Glasgow), as well as a Fellowship in the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Roop is committed to providing advanced and compassionate care to children, offering a wide range of surgical treatments for various pediatric conditions.
His expertise spans the management of congenital abnormalities, pediatric trauma, gastrointestinal disorders, hernias, undescended testicles, and more. He specializes in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques, ensuring less pain and quicker recovery for his young patients. Dr. Roop also provides consultations and surgical interventions for conditions such as cleft lip and palate, pediatric urological and orthopedic surgeries, and surgeries related to endocrine and metabolic disorders among other conditions.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Roop contributes to the education of future medical professionals as an Associate Lecturer at the University of the West Indies (U.W.I.), where he shares his knowledge and expertise with medical students and residents.
