Dr. Avinash Bissoon is a pediatrician with over 18 years of experience in children’s health and well-being. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of the West Indies. He is a member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health in England, having completed his UK-based exams in October 2016, which placed him on the Specialist Pediatric Register with the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago.
Dr. Bissoon also completed a degree in Pediatric Growth and Nutrition with Boston University Hospital, which informs his management of patients, emphasizing the importance of nutrition at all life stages. He holds a MRCPCH qualification from the UK, attained in 2016, and is a certified Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Instructor since 2013, training doctors and nurses in newborn resuscitation. Additionally, he achieved Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS) certification in 2017.
Dr. Bissoon is actively involved in the education and training of junior doctors and has participated in administering clinical examinations to medical students. He has a keen interest in developmental and growth assessments from birth, recognizing the importance of early detection of potential problems to ensure better outcomes. Evidence-based, patient-centered care is central to his practice.
